Maine Life 2025
Maine Life Series
"Maine Life" is a heartfelt tribute to the essence of Maine — a reflection of the beauty, resilience, and quiet charm that define life here. As a native Mainer, I’ve always felt a deep connection to the landscapes, wildlife, and natural rhythms of this place. This series explores those connections through vibrant acrylic paintings, capturing the moments and creatures that make Maine feel like home.
Each piece in the Maine Life series tells a story rooted in place and memory:
Cape Neddick – This image stands as a symbol of Maine’s working waterfront and coastal traditions. The sight of lobster buoys strung along the buildings and the salty breeze off the Atlantic reflect the deep connection between Maine’s people and the sea. The lobster pound represents both the hard work and the simple pleasures of life on the coast — the warmth of a shared meal and the taste of fresh-caught seafood.
Puffin – With their bright beaks and playful charm, puffins are a cherished symbol of Maine’s coastal wildlife. Their return each spring to the rocky islands off the coast represents both renewal and the delicate balance of Maine’s natural ecosystem.
Moose at Baxter State Park – The quiet majesty of a moose wading through a misty morning pond at Baxter State Park speaks to the wild, untamed spirit of inland Maine. The presence of a moose reflects the quiet strength and peace found in Maine’s remote, forested heart.
Plovers – The delicate piping plovers, with their quick steps and soft calls, embody the fragility and resilience of Maine’s coastal habitats. Often seen darting along sandy beaches, plovers remind us of the importance of preserving these quiet spaces where nature and wildlife coexist.
Ladybug – Small but full of symbolism, ladybugs are a sign of good fortune and the changing seasons. Their bright red shells contrast beautifully with Maine’s green summer fields, adding a playful touch to the natural landscape.
Lupines – The rolling hills of Maine are awash with shades of purple, pink, and blue each June when the lupines bloom. Their brief but vibrant display mirrors the fleeting beauty of Maine’s summer and the delicate balance of life in a place shaped by long winters and brief growing seasons.
Jordan Pond – The tranquil waters of Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park reflect the surrounding mountains and ever-changing sky. Its glassy surface invites a moment of stillness and connection — a reminder of the quiet beauty and calm that Maine’s wilderness offers.
Through this series, I aim to share not just the visual beauty of Maine, but also the emotional connection that comes from living here. Each piece reflects my experience growing up and creating in Maine — the quiet mornings, the vibrant summers, and the steadfast presence of nature. Maine Life is about capturing the feeling of being home — the sense of peace, wonder, and belonging that comes from knowing you are part of this place.
